There are days when things aren’t going so well. Maybe it’s a bad day at work, maybe you’re bickering with a loved one, or maybe you just woke up in a bad mood for no apparent reason. It happens!

It’s nice to have things you can consistently turn to to lift your spirits like going on a walk or working on your favorite hobby. But what to do when you can’t do any of your go-to bad-mood-busters? (Or heck, maybe you’re just feeling lazy.) This essential oil blend is what I reach for!


  • 8 drops lemon essential oil
  • 15 drops orange essential oil
  • 15 drops grapefruit essential oil
  • 8 drops lemongrass essential oil
  • optional: if you’re going to apply it topically, you’ll want about 1/2 oz of carrier oil that’s liquid at room temperature such as sweet almond oil, argan oil, or even olive oil

How to Use (3 different ways): 

#1. If you’d like to apply this blend topically, you just combine all of the ingredients, including the carrier oil (very important to use if you’re using essential oils topically!), into an empty roll-on tube.  Shake well to mix everything together and then apply to your wrists, neck, temples…pretty much wherever you want.  This way is great because you can keep the blend with you at work and on the go to use whenever you need a pick-me-up.


#2. If you have an essential oil diffuser, simply place your essential oils on the warmer and let it disperse them around your room.

#3. This way is by far the least fancy way to do this but it’s exceedingly cheap and gets the job done. I simply just sprinkle the essential oils over an old towel that I don’t mind getting any stains on and keep it close to wherever I’m sitting.  The scent is actually pretty strong and will last over several hours.
