Before you get really confused (or excited, depending on your thoughts about vodka!), this is a cleaning recipe! Not one for drinking 🙂
Our love of non-toxic cleaning products is long-standing. And while we’re all about finding amazing companies to support, making amazingly effective and safe cleaning products is one of the easiest ways to get started with DIY-ing.
(Not to mention, the cost savings are insane.)
And don’t worry: this recipe doesn’t smell like vodka when you’re done cleaning. Thanks to the peppermint in the recipe, your house will end up smelling super fresh!
Here’s the recipe:
- ½ cup vodka
- ½ cup witch hazel
- 1 cup distilled water
- 15 drops tea tree oil
- 20 drops peppermint essential oil
Just add together in a spray bottle and shake before using! Easy peasy!
(Note: We like keeping our solutions in glass bottles. But buying empty glass spray bottle can be kind of expensive. Our solution is to repurpose the glass bottles from apple cider vinegar and then buy a $1 plastic spray bottle and use the spray top from that to attach it to the ACV glass bottle. Most tops to bottles come in a standard size top so it’s rare that you’ll find ones that don’t fit.)
Happy DIY-ing!
XOXO,
